Stockyards Boxing hosted a great set of boxing bouts on Saturday, February 16. Coach Rick Souce once again did an excellent job.
Unfortunately, the host gym did not do well. Stockyards' boxers brought in only one win.
Bout 1, Antonio Baker from Cabbagetown vs. Nicole Thernen from Atlas Boxing.
Nicole won a Split-Decision.
Bout 2, Bonnie Cook from Gideon vs. Erin Kekowski from Beaver Boxing.
Erin won by 3 - 0 Decision.
Bout 3, Bares Shavouri from Gideon vs. Paul Ispas from Old School Boxing.
Paul came out very aggressive, and stayed that way for most of the bout.
Unfortunately, it did not help him.
Bares won a Split-Decision.
Bout 4, Jade Walsh from Old School Boxing vs. Walter Rameriez from Champion.
Jade won by 3 - 0 Decision.
Bout 5, Marc Cuison from Stockyards vs. Spencer Davis from Gideon.
Marc won by 3 - 0 Decision. Stockyards' only win of the night.
Bout 6, Eric Adjei from Beaver Boxing vs. Heather Hopkins from Cabbagetown.
Eric won by 3 - 0 Decision.
Bout 7, Oliver Kladnik form Stockyards vs. Andrew Slack from Peterborough Boxing.
Although, Oliver put up a good fight, and at one point opened a cut on Slack's forehead, causing a stoppage,
Andrew Slack still won by 3 - 0 Decision.
Bout 8, McHerrey Dunalanta from Stockyards vs. Mike Duenas from Champion.
A very exciting bout, and a difficult one to call.
However, due to McHerrey losing two points, the bout went to Mike.
Initially, the judges awarded the win to Stockyards, but the decision was later reversed.
Bout 9, Max Gronkol from Stockyards vs. Raff Fatore from Cabbagetown.
Among a great night of boxing, this was definitely one of the best.
I would have given the bout to Raff, due to Max getting a Standing-8 in the third round. It did not matter, however, since Max was disqualified for using illegal handwraps.
Raff Fatore won by disqualification.
